Important message from Two Rivers Principal, Barry Fisher

11/11/19

Dear Parents:

The Two Rivers School District was approved by the state for five AMI days if needed for the 2019-2020 school year.

Two Rivers School District has been approved by the state to use Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) on days when we have inclement weather or exceptional circumstances and must cancel school.  We would take advantage of using this new way of teaching and learning on any days (up to five) that would otherwise have been “snow days” to be made up at the end of the year.

If regular school is canceled and it is considered to be an AMI Day, students will be expected to follow the TRSD AMI Plan by completing assignments at home.  These assignments are consistent for various grades and subjects throughout the district and will be based on existing knowledge, not new material. The assignments are to be completed at home and turned in within three days of returning to school and graded accordingly.  It is our goal that AMI Days enable us to continue learning despite the uncontrollable elements of the weather or unforeseen events. AMI Days will not allow inclement weather to push our school calendar into June.

AMI packets were sent home with the students today or the information was posted in each student’s google classroom.

Sincerely,

Barry Fisher

Two Rivers High School Principal
