On Tuesday, April 16th, Two Rivers High School partnered with the Yell County Cooperative Extension Service to give our seniors a glimpse of what it is like to make real-world financial decisions. Our seniors went through a program called Ready, Set, Graduate.
In the morning, students were taught about credit cards, banking basics and how to create a budget based on a salary of their choosing by the FACS and Business teachers. In the afternoon, students put their financial management skills to the test during the “Mall of Life” simulation. The “Mall of Life” is comprised of different stations that simulate the types of expenses that adults face each month. Students had to find a home or apartment, purchase a car, get insurance, choose a phone, cable and internet plan, and get approved for their loans by the bank as well as other everyday expenses like utilities, groceries, clothing, entertainment, and transportation cost.
Thank you to the following community partners for volunteering their time to oversee different stations in the Mall of Life simulation: Lambert Motors, First State Bank in Ola, Chambers Bank in Danville, Yell County Library, Community Services, Inc, Grace Church, All Around Real Estate, Madison Rentals, Yell County Health Department, Yell County Farm Bureau, and Yell County Extension Homemakers Club!
The Ready Set Graduate program is offered by the Yell County Extension office. If you have questions about this program, please contact Rachel Chaney at 479-495-2216.

The Two Rivers Senior Slide Show is Friday, April 26 @ 1pm in the TRHS Auditorium. All of our seniors, parents/guardians & grandparents, etc are invited to this event. If you attend this event, please sign in at the front office and get a visitor pass.
